Andaman Beaches

The Andaman Islands, a Union territory of India, are located in the Bay of Bengal, and are a unique beach holiday destination. Apart from sun, sand and sea, these islands offer unspoilt beaches, exotic marine life, lush tropical greenery and isolation from the hustle and bustle of urban life - they are the perfect holiday getaway.

Sandy beaches of Andaman Islands are famous for turtles nesting. Important species of turtles that are present on these islands include Leather Back Turtle, Green Sea Turtle, Hawksbill Turtle and Olive Ridley Turtle. Water Monitor Lizard, Salt-Water Crocodiles, Reticulate Python etc. are also seen here.

The surrounding seas are equally rich in marine bio-diversity. They harbour more than 1,200 species of fish, 350 species of echinoderms, 1,000 species of Molluscs and many more other forms of life. Among Vertebrates dugong, dolphin and whale are common. Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park is rich in Corals, varieties of colourful Fishes, Sea Turtles, etc., besides other marine life.

Corbyn's Cove Beach

This scenic sea-beach, is ideal for sunbathing and swimming. Water sports facilities are also available. The picturesque location and clear water make this beach an unforgettable sight.

Harminder Bay Beach

This picturesque beach is situated 100-km from Port Blair at Hut Bay Island. This beach can be reached by ship from Port Blair.

Karmatang Beach

Karmatang beach, is situated at Mayabunder, in the northern part of Middle Andaman. It is 240-km by road and 136-km by boat from Port Blair. This beach is also the location of a turtle nesting ground.

Radhnagar Beach

Radhanagar and Vijaynagar Beaches in Havelock are pristine, unspoilt beaches and will appeal to every beach enthusiast and nature lover.

Ramnagar Beach

This sandy beach on Diglipur Island, of the Andaman's group, is connected by two daily boat services from Mayabunder and twice a week from Port Blair.
